What is Botox? – Botox is the purified form of botulinum toxin which is FDA approved for wrinkles between the eyebrows. It is also used to treat wrinkles and lines in other areas such as crow’s feet, across the forehead, around the mouth, and on the neck. Botox blocks the release of a substance called acetylcholine, which is how this muscle movement is inhibited. Botox is the most common cosmetic procedure in the U.S.

What does Botox do? – Botox causes wrinkles to relax and soften. Wrinkles occur when we use our muscles to form facial expressions. Fine lines are also caused by factors such as sun damage, poor nutrition, genetics, and smoking. Botox used used to soften the face and take years off of your appearance.

How can Botox lift? – Botox can provide a subtle lift on the brows. By relaxing the muscles that pull down the brows, we’re able to create a gentle lift to the brows. This will also give the eyes a more open look and a refreshed appearance.

What is the downtime after a treatment? – This is a treatment with minimal to no downtime. Some patients experience slight bruising which typically resolves itself within a week. Typically within 3 to 7 days your Botox will begin working, and may last up to 4 months before an additional treatment is necessary.
